# 4.1 Creating Your Amazon Seller Account

## Step 1: Sign Up Page

This is where your Amazon journey officially begins. Head to the Amazon UK selling portal:

This is Amazon's official entry point for new sellers. Click the orange "Sign Up" button on the left side of the page, underneath the title. This takes you into Amazon's seller registration flow, nothing is created yet, it just begins the application.

![Amazon, Step 1](https://3986765814-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FyUIGNjYBTQwrbsINKQV2%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-e55a46c534d36fd1d6c18906807d782b250cbd1f%2Famazon-01.png?alt=media)

## Step 2: Choose How You Will Log In

On the Amazon Seller Central login screen, Amazon asks whether you want to use an existing Amazon account or create a brand-new one. For the Blueprint, use a clean seller profile that isn't connected to your personal shopping history, old orders, or previous accounts.

![Amazon, Step 2](https://3986765814-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FyUIGNjYBTQwrbsINKQV2%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-1f73a69ef67ab3deb60541aa704e5679aa70fb9f%2Famazon-02.png?alt=media)

## Step 3: Create Your New Amazon Seller Login

On the "Sell with a new account" page, create the login credentials tied to your Amazon Seller account: your name, email address, password, and password confirmation. This isn't your business information yet, just your login profile.

![Amazon, Step 3](https://3986765814-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FyUIGNjYBTQwrbsINKQV2%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-dd7f373b8f4cd304c422e37b4ca34ed0de53adfb%2Famazon-03.png?alt=media)

## Step 4: Add & Verify Your Mobile Number

On the "Add mobile number" screen, Amazon requires a verified phone number for login security, password resets, identity verification, and account notifications. This number becomes part of your seller profile and should stay stable.

![Amazon, Step 4](https://3986765814-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FyUIGNjYBTQwrbsINKQV2%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-39cfbd01c9f3417f08dbac5976643032a7b8801b%2Famazon-04.png?alt=media)

## Step 5: Welcome Screen

After two-step verification, Amazon shows a welcome and instructions page outlining the overall onboarding flow. This isn't a form yet. It's just an overview of what's coming next.

![Amazon, Step 5](https://3986765814-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FyUIGNjYBTQwrbsINKQV2%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-de7e986fb7a41889866b46e12cf9ea16454041d4%2Famazon-05.png?alt=media)

## Step 6: Business Information

This is the first official piece of business data Amazon collects. It determines the country Amazon associates with your business, which regulations and Seller Agreement apply, which verification rules you must pass, and which marketplaces your account connects to automatically.

**Select your business type.** After choosing United Kingdom as your business location, select your Business Type. Since you've followed the SourceSheets Blueprint and already formed a UK Limited Company, this choice is straightforward.

**Enter your official LTD business name.** After selecting United Kingdom and Privately-owned business, enter your registered business name. This must match your Companies House registration exactly.

![Amazon, Step 6](https://3986765814-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FyUIGNjYBTQwrbsINKQV2%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-cd8672db6b0164d87efd688f03cdbbeb4d281b31%2Famazon-06.png?alt=media)

![Amazon, Step 6](https://3986765814-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FyUIGNjYBTQwrbsINKQV2%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-863030088712684f16af07fa06c2438ed12ea169%2Famazon-07.png?alt=media)

![Amazon, Step 6](https://3986765814-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FyUIGNjYBTQwrbsINKQV2%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-396a9ae1b24cf86ee8235f74b14cadf8e29cbe09%2Famazon-08.png?alt=media)

## Step 7: Enter Your Full LTD Business Information

This page collects the official legal details of your company so Amazon can verify it against the UK corporate registry. It has four sections.

**Business Name.** In the field asking for the business name used to register with your state or federal government, enter your LTD name exactly as it appears on Companies House: exact spelling, LTD or LIMITED included correctly, punctuation matched. Amazon cross-checks this automatically against Companies House, and even a small mismatch (extra spacing, missing LTD, different capitalisation) can cause delays.

**Company Registration Number (CRN).** Enter your 8-digit CRN from Companies House (e.g. 12345678; LLPs use a format like OC123456, which doesn't apply to you). This is one of the fields Amazon uses to confirm your company is real and active.

**Registered Business Address.** This must be your official registered office address from Companies House, even if you work from somewhere else. Fill in country (United Kingdom), postcode, building/flat/unit if applicable, house number, city/town, and locality (often optional). Amazon compares this address to your Companies House record and your bank statement, so all three must match. If your Revolut statement address differs, update it before verification.

![Amazon, Step 7](https://3986765814-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FyUIGNjYBTQwrbsINKQV2%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-cbde8542a182f64881d63da33505b7ef866ebe03%2Famazon-09.png?alt=media)

**Phone Number.** Must be active, yours, in the same format used earlier, and able to receive SMS.

## Step 8: Provide Primary Contact Person Information

Amazon now needs the details of the main person responsible for the account, this must be you.

You'll enter your first name, middle names (optional), last name, country of citizenship, country of birth, and date of birth, exactly as shown on your passport or driving licence, since even one mismatched letter can cause delays.

**Identity document selection.** Choose the ID you'll upload: passport, driver's licence, or national ID.

**Residential address confirmation.** Amazon usually auto-fills this from your earlier entries. Double-check it's correct before continuing.

**Confirming roles & ownership.** Tick "Is a beneficial owner of the business" (confirms you own or control it) and "Is a legal representative of the business" (confirms you're authorised to act on its behalf). Amazon then asks "Have you added all the beneficial owners of the business?", choose Yes unless your company has multiple owners holding 25%+. Finally tick "I confirm I am acting on my own behalf and will update ownership information if anything changes," and click Next.

![Amazon, Step 8](https://3986765814-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FyUIGNjYBTQwrbsINKQV2%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-7290dc00b2d245da9111d0a2291a2c57f57449c3%2Famazon-10.png?alt=media)

![Amazon, Step 8](https://3986765814-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FyUIGNjYBTQwrbsINKQV2%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-ba9914d770b028435a36f25cad02232d91cdfecd%2Famazon-11.png?alt=media)

![Amazon, Step 8](https://3986765814-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FyUIGNjYBTQwrbsINKQV2%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-33d11714a94db8774b7774ee8ebe299ebb986243%2Famazon-12.png?alt=media)

![Amazon, Step 8](https://3986765814-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FyUIGNjYBTQwrbsINKQV2%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-85c8150203256acbdb361df961b439862f5e9922%2Famazon-13.png?alt=media)

## Step 9: Add Your Billing & Payment Information

Link a chargeable card. Amazon uses it for the Professional plan subscription fee (£25 + VAT), any unpaid seller fees, and temporary test charges for verification, which reverse automatically.

Enter the details of your Revolut Business physical card (recommended): card number, expiry date, and cardholder name, matching the account holder exactly.

**Billing address.** Use the billing address linked to your Revolut card, not your home address or trading address. Select United Kingdom and enter the exact Revolut billing address, making sure the postcode, building/house number, and city all match. Amazon validates your card against this address, and a mismatch can stall your account during verification.

You'll see a notice that you're charged £25 for the first month, and only charged again if you have active listings. You can complete your entire setup without posting any products, and the fee doesn't continue until you actually start listing.

![Amazon, Step 9](https://3986765814-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FyUIGNjYBTQwrbsINKQV2%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-6f8f13af349afa891330dd80f35247e4c7993f4e%2Famazon-14.png?alt=media)

## Step 10: Store & Product Information

This page helps Amazon understand what you intend to sell. Nothing you enter here locks you in or restricts what you can sell later, it just helps Amazon categorise your account.

**Store Name.** The public-facing name of your store. You can change it later, so don't overthink it. Avoid words like "Amazon," "Official," or trademarked brand names, and keep it simple and professional. Examples: Luma Trading, Northbridge Retail, PrimePeak Goods, Glacier & Co. Pick something neutral and brand-safe, you can refine it later.

**UPC codes.** Select "No." Retail arbitrage, online arbitrage, and most wholesale sellers don't need or use UPCs directly, Amazon already has product listings with UPCs assigned, and you'll join existing listings by ASIN rather than creating new UPC-based ones.

**Are you the manufacturer or brand owner?** Select "No." You're not manufacturing products or representing a brand. Selecting "Yes" triggers brand ownership verification and additional paperwork.

![Amazon, Step 10](https://3986765814-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FyUIGNjYBTQwrbsINKQV2%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-ab6caed39a65cf6dd23217eef3bea52217869377%2Famazon-15.png?alt=media)

## Step 11: Identity & Address Verification

The final stage before your account can go live. Amazon verifies your business details and your identity and address. This is standard across all marketplaces and usually takes only a few minutes if your documents are clear.

Check over the auto-pulled information from your earlier entries.

**Identity document upload.** Upload the front side (and back side, for a driving licence) of an accepted document: UK Driving Licence (front and back) or Passport (photo page only).

Tips: take photos on a flat surface with good lighting, avoid shadows and reflections on holograms, and make sure all four corners are visible and readable.

![Amazon, Step 11](https://3986765814-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FyUIGNjYBTQwrbsINKQV2%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-2f5472ee1bf8dd33b63ed9fd9e5563fcb228cd73%2Famazon-16.png?alt=media)

**Proof of address.** Amazon requires a recent document showing your residential address: a bank statement, utility bill (gas, electric, water), council tax letter, or credit card statement. It must be dated within the last 90 days, downloaded as a PDF directly from your bank or provider, and match the address you entered earlier exactly.

## Step 12: Identity Verification (Video Call)

This is the final step of setup, and it's more straightforward than it sounds. After uploading your documents, Amazon invites you to a short video verification call with an Amazon Associate, typically 3 to 5 minutes, to confirm you're a real person, your ID belongs to you, and your documents match your registration. Nothing more, no business or sourcing questions, just an ID check.

**What you'll need:**

* A device with a camera: laptop, desktop with webcam, or mobile phone with a front-facing camera. Any modern device works.
* A supported browser: Google Chrome, Safari, or an Amazon-approved browser, with camera and microphone permissions enabled.
* Your original ID document, the physical original, not a screenshot or scan.
* Your original supporting document, if Amazon asked for a recent bank or credit card statement (last 180 days), have the original paper version or the document open on your device.

The call is held in English, though Amazon allows you to bring a translator if needed, and calls may be recorded for audit and compliance purposes.

**What happens in the call:**

1. The Amazon Associate joins and greets you
2. You show your face clearly
3. You hold your ID up to the camera
4. They may ask you to tilt or rotate it
5. They may ask a simple confirmation question (e.g. "What is your full name?")
6. You hold up your proof of address document, if applicable
7. They confirm everything is visible
8. They end the call

Usually under 5 minutes.

![Amazon, Step 12](https://3986765814-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FyUIGNjYBTQwrbsINKQV2%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-3884b81146a4400bf743497e85737657c08788ff%2Famazon-17.png?alt=media)

## Step 13: Final Confirmation After Your Video Call

Once your call is complete, Amazon processes your verification and takes you to a confirmation screen with three things confirmed.

**1. Amazon has received all required information.** A green banner reads: "Thank you for sharing your information. We have received your information and may reach out to you for further clarification within 2 business days." This means your documents and video call were successfully submitted and Amazon is completing internal verification. Most sellers are approved within 24 to 48 hours, though Amazon allows up to 2 business days.

![Amazon, Step 13](https://3986765814-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FyUIGNjYBTQwrbsINKQV2%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-16c9572b9f84537f76fb9aa9efb206349b0bfb59%2Famazon-18.png?alt=media)

**2. Your submitted details are locked in.** You'll see summaries of your Business Information, Primary Contact Person Information, and Residential Address. You don't need to change anything unless Amazon contacts you and requests an update.

**3. The video call section shows as completed.** Instead of a "Join call" button, you'll see a status showing your call is finished. If Amazon needs anything else, they'll contact you through Seller Central or email, otherwise no further action is required. At this point, you're done, Amazon is finalising your verification.

## What Happens Next?

**If everything matches:** your account becomes active and approved. You'll get an email confirming it's ready, and Seller Central opens fully.

**If Amazon needs clarification:** they may request a clearer ID image, a different proof of address, a second appointment, or a corrected business detail. This is normal, around 20 to 30% of new sellers get at least one clarification request.

Once approved, you're officially an Amazon seller. This completes the entire registration and verification journey. You now have a legally registered business, a verified trading bank account, a fully verified Amazon Seller account, access to Seller Central, and eligibility to list products, send inventory, and begin trading. From here, everything becomes practical: sourcing, evaluating, preparing, and selling products.

## ⭐ Milestone Check: Amazon Seller Account Fully Activated

Module 4 is now complete. Most new sellers get stuck for weeks on this setup process. You've completed it with clarity and no wasted motion. By reaching this milestone, you've completed:

**Company Formation.** Your UK Ltd company is officially registered, compliant, and ready for trading.

**Business Banking Setup.** Tide and Revolut are in place, giving you everything Amazon requires for verification, payouts, and clean financial management.

**Full Amazon Seller Registration.** Your Seller Central account has been created with the details needed for long-term success.

**ID Verification.** Your government-issued ID has been accepted and matched to your account.

**Address Verification.** Your supporting documents (bank statement, utility bill, or licence) have passed compliance checks.

**Video Call Verification.** Your identity has been confirmed by Amazon, the step most sellers delay on.

Your Amazon Seller Account is now live and ready. You own a fully operational Amazon trading entity, the foundation every profitable FBA seller stands on.

**What this means moving forward:** you're ready to add products, create shipments, send your first stock to Amazon, start generating revenue, and move toward your first payout. Your systems are in place, your account is compliant, and your business is officially real.
