# 6.4 How to Quickly Filter Out Time-Wasting Products

Most products on any sheet are not worth your time. Your job at this stage is not to evaluate every row carefully. It's to say no quickly to the ones that were never going to work, so you only spend real time on the ones that might.

### Let the Filters panel do the first pass

Your saved Minimum Profit, Minimum ROI, and Minimum Sales/mo from 5.3 already strip out the obvious no's before you even open a sheet. If a sheet still feels overwhelming, tighten Max Risk to Low, or raise Min Score, rather than scrolling through everything by eye.

### Let the Buy List do the second pass

Add anything that survives your filters to your **Buy List**. SourceSheets automatically sorts everything on it into:

* **Strong Opportunity**: clears your thresholds cleanly
* **Need Review**: close, but something needs a second look
* **Rejected**: doesn't clear your bar

This isn't a substitute for your own judgement, and it isn't the same as the full 7-gate evaluation in Module 7. Treat it as a fast triage step: Rejected means move on without a second thought, Strong Opportunity and Need Review mean it's earned five real minutes of your attention.

### What this stage should feel like

Fast, and a little repetitive. You should be rejecting far more products than you shortlist. That's normal, not a sign you're doing it wrong. If you're spending more than thirty seconds deciding whether to shortlist something, you're doing Module 7's job too early. Move it to Buy List and come back to it properly.

### What happens next

Once you've got a shortlist worth taking seriously, Module 7 covers how to actually evaluate it properly before you spend real money.
