# 10.4 UPS Drop-off vs Collection

For most new sellers shipping standard-sized boxes, Amazon's Partnered Carrier programme in the UK runs through UPS. When you confirm your shipping service in Seller Central (10.2), you'll be offered UPS at a discounted, pre-negotiated rate, almost always cheaper than booking a courier yourself.

## Drop-off

If you're only sending a small number of boxes, the simplest option is dropping them off yourself at a UPS Access Point (a local shop or depot acting as a collection point) or a staffed UPS location. Seller Central will show you your nearest options once you confirm UPS as your carrier. This is usually the cheapest route and works well for a first shipment of a handful of boxes.

## Collection

For larger shipments, or if you'd rather not carry boxes anywhere, you can book a UPS collection directly from your address through Seller Central. There's a small collection fee, but it saves the trip. This becomes more worthwhile as your volume increases.

## Which to Choose for Your First Shipment

If you're sending a small number of boxes and have a UPS Access Point nearby, drop-off is the simplest and cheapest way to get your first shipment moving. As your orders grow and box counts increase, switching to collection is a simple toggle in the shipping step, there's no need to decide this once and stick with it forever.

## After You Ship

Once your boxes are handed over, Amazon provides tracking through Seller Central so you can follow the shipment from collection through to "Checked In" at the FC.
